SUMMARY:Restore, Reconnect, Reimagine: A Restorative Practices Retreat for Connecticut Educators
DESCRIPTION:Connecticut schools are rethinking how we respond to conflict and challenging behavior, in the interest of raising the academic achievements of all students. In the 2025–26 school year, all districts will be tasked with adopting restorative practices as part of their approach to student discipline and school climate. Whether you are a classroom teacher, building leader, or school climate coordinator, this immersive two-day retreat will deepen your understanding of restorative practices in education and prepare you to lead them in your schools. This will not be a “sit-and-get”. Restorative practices are not a “spectator sport”. You will engage in hands-on learning, meaningful conversations, and gain practical tools that center learning, belonging, and connection over punishment and exclusion. What to ExpectRestorative circle processes that foster strong academic outcomesPractice with conflict resolution and reintegration strategiesTools for leading with compassion and clarity in moments of challengeGuidance on aligning your work with Connecticut’s school climate and discipline expectationsA collaborative space to build relationships and network with other committed educatorsFacilitated ByGreat Schools Partnership and University of St. Joseph educators of restorative practices who have supported thousands of educators across New England in implementing restorative systems.RegistrationRegistration includes two full days of restorative learning and facilitation, breakfast and lunch on both days, restorative justice facilitation resources, tools aligned with Connecticut’s new restorative practices policy, and a certificate for 15 professional development contact hours.Start learning more about Restorative Practices right now with our Restorative Practices Toolkit!
