Data Informed Instructional Planning: Using Data to Drive More Equitable Instruction
This session offers a hands-on opportunity for educators to engage in deep and meaningful data-driven dialogue. Teams will examine their own classroom data to learn how to pinpoint student learning challenges, select instructional interventions, and monitor progress toward reaching student learning goals.
During the first part of this session, participants will learn about and workshop a process for identifying and unpacking classroom data, understanding and analyzing patterns in the data, and developing a plan for improvement based on the data analysis. In the second half of the session, teacher teams will work together to examine data from their own classrooms, discuss patterns in student performance, and engage in collaborative sense-making. Teams will focus on identifying areas for improvement, using data to plan specific adjustments to instruction, and developing a plan for monitoring progress and growth in student learning.
This event is designed for grade-level or content-specific teacher teams of 2-7 people. Teams of classroom teachers might include support from a school administrator, a curriculum specialist, or special education and ELL specialists who attend the workshop as part of the team.
