Monthly Meetings on Select Wednesdays
September 2020 – June 2021
3:00-4:00 p.m. ET
Join us for our year-long Community Engagement Professional Learning Group (PLG). PLGs are cohorts of participants who meet regularly to learn from research, share dilemmas, examine work, and push and challenge each other. Over the years we have seen the power of PLGs to effect meaningful and lasting change in schools. Virtual PLGs give participants the opportunity to learn and grow with others who work in different schools and communities while helping to keep us healthy and safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. This PLG will provide new perspectives in a supportive and facilitated online environment across the entire school year. Registration is now closed.
The community engagement professional learning group is a space for educators, families, students, and community members to increase their knowledge and hone their skills of equitable community engagement. Together, we will explore topics and issues that are relevant to your context including family and student engagement during the Covid-19 pandemic and strategies to address various inequities in your community.
Through our work, participants will:
- Build connections across a network of communities and school districts working to sustain equitable community engagement.
- Explore ways to align their day-to-day practices with their long-range vision for equitable engagement.
- Share resources, knowledge, and strategies for leading equitable community engagement work.
This PLG is open to educators, administrators, school staff in family engagement or student engagement roles, families, students, and community members.
