Andrea Weisman Summers
Andi Summers is a senior associate with the Great Schools Partnership. Andi began her career at the Coalition of Essential Schools and then became a member of the design team of the first Big Picture Learning School, the Met, in Providence, RI. After several years at Big Picture Learning, Andi moved to Maine and taught elementary school for 8 years. She’s also taught children and adults internationally in both Costa Rica and Peru and worked at an immigration legal aid clinic for many years. Her professional interests include equity and diversity in schools, personalization, and strengthening school-community connections. Andi earned a BA in anthropology from Brown University and a MS in education from the University of Southern Maine. In her free time, Andi enjoys hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, traveling, reading, and going to the beach. She lives in Portland, ME with her daughter and her two cats.
