Jean returned to the Great Schools Partnership as a senior associate after serving as the director of the Leadership School at Kieve. She began her career in education as a K–12 teacher, held various positions as a school administrator, and became a school coach in 2001, first with the Southern Maine Partnership and then with the Great Schools Partnership. In addition to coaching several schools, Jean has led a variety of middle-level school-improvement initiatives and worked with International Baccalaureate Americas on the development of a comprehensive school-coaching model for middle schools and high schools. Jean’s professional interests include creating equitable, rigorous, and personalized learning experiences for all students; developing meaningful place-based learning opportunities that connect instruction, career pursuits, and community needs; and strengthening the transition between middle schools and high schools to increase student engagement and success. Jean earned a BA in German and French from the University of New Hampshire and an MA in English from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. Although she travels throughout the Northeast, Jean considers Eustis Ridge, Maine, her home.
