Kate Theriault is a senior associate at Great Schools Partnership. She works to deepen public engagement in education throughout New England by building capacity among diverse stakeholders for systemic change. During the past eight years, Kate has worked for a Boston-based consulting firm and for Portland Public Schools (Maine) to design and implement a variety of educational improvement initiatives. With these organizations, she provided oversight and consulting to educators and leaders at the school, district, and state levels on a range of education topics, including school and district turnaround, the Common Core standards, teacher and leader professional development reforms, and community engagement. Kate began her career in education with Teach for America, teaching fourth grade in Atlanta. She earned her masters degree in Educational Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree in American Studies from Colby College. A native Mainer, Kate lives in Brunswick with her husband and enjoys the outdoors, tennis, traveling, and independent bookstores.
