Just in Time Session #2: What AREN’T We Talking About?

November 12, 2020

3:00-4:15 p.m. ET

At the Great Schools Partnership, we understand how rapidly circumstances change in classrooms, schools, and communities across the U.S. That’s why our network is making space for educators to meet, discuss, and share promising practices on the urgent topics you care about.

Our second just-in-time session—What AREN’T We Talking About? Discussing Inequity in Our Schools and Communities—is focused on the roles of language and relationships in confronting inequity, with a particular focus on racial inequity.

In this 75-minute session, we will:

  • Frame the role of discourse in naming and confronting inequities
  • Explore different types of discourse
  • Frame how inequity is reinforced by what we don’t discuss
  • Engage in small group conversations about what needs to be discussed in your context, and possible action steps for moving forward
  • Share tools and resources you can use in your school and community
