José Bou is the Director of School Partnerships at the Great Schools Partnership. Over the past several years, José has focused on enhancing the restorative justice and family engagement strategies of schools. His extensive background includes teaching Restorative Justice Theory at the secondary and post-secondary levels as well as building systems of   restorative practices for schools. Prior to this role, José served as the Director of Family and Community Partnerships for the Holyoke Public Schools and as a professor of criminal justice at Holyoke Community College. He also worked as a workforce development coordinator for MassHire, supporting "proven risk" youth in Holyoke, and as a youth worker at Roca, Inc. in Springfield, MA, where he engaged in street work with out-of-school and court-involved participants.

José holds a bachelor's degree in English and American literature and a master’s degree in criminal justice from Boston University. He lives in Holyoke, Massachusetts, with his amazing partner and two beautiful daughters.
