This is the first meeting of the School Leaders’ Professional Learning Group (PLG), which will meet monthly over Zoom—except for the March 25 & 26 meeting, which will take place in person at the School Redesign in Action conference in Providence, Rhode Island.
Together, we’ll learn from research, share dilemmas, examine work, and push and challenge each other. This PLG will provide new perspectives in a supportive and facilitated online environment throughout the school year, allowing participants to engage and learn from colleagues across districts, regions, school sizes, and experience levels. School leaders will collaboratively drive the focus of each meeting. At times, we will break into smaller, choice-based groups to tackle timely and urgent issues that arise during our time together.
Participant Outcomes
The goal of the School Leaders’ PLG is to foster professional development and support change in service of creating more equitable schools for all students. Through our work, participants will:
- Identify connections, exchange ideas, and foster professional relationships.
- Apply new learning and perspectives to dilemmas and work related to creating equitable outcomes for all students.
- Share resources, knowledge, and strategies for implementing school change.
This session, which will be conducted virtually via Zoom, will include interactive small-group discussions. We will not be recording any sessions. One session, on March 25 & 26, will be held in person at the School Redesign in Action Conference in Providence, Rhode Island.
Audience
This PLG is open exclusively to elementary or secondary school principals and assistant principals. We have found the rich interplay between a range of school leaders—from new to highly experienced—leads to deeper conversations and more diverse perspectives.
Please note: For quality conversation and collaboration, this PLG requires a minimum number of participants. The Great Schools Partnership will notify all registered participants if this minimum is not met by September 25, 2023.
