Join Great Schools Partnership for our 2025-2026 Book Club Series—four guided book studies designed for educators, school leaders, and community partners committed to strengthening instructional practice and advancing student success.
GSP’s experienced facilitators will guide you through text-based discussions focused on teacher leadership, educator workforce development, and educational approaches to improve engagement and build higher-order thinking skills. Each series combines reflective discussion with practical application, offering tools and strategies to implement in your classroom, school, or district. Participants receive professional development certificates and access to comprehensive session materials.
The Antiracist Roadmap to Education Equity
Thursdays, October 2 - 30, 2025
This guided book club for The Antiracist Roadmap to Educational Equity: A Systemwide Approach for All Stakeholders explores practical strategies for creating equitable outcomes for all students by addressing power imbalances and elevating underrepresented voices. Participants will learn how to maximize their role in advancing equity, discuss strategies for building more equitable systems, and consider next steps for applying the book’s resources within their school, district, or community.
Unleashing the Power of Teacher Leadership
Monday, November 03 - December 08, 2025
This guided book club on Unleashing Teacher Leadership by Joshua Barnett examines how strong teacher leadership drives instructional improvement, fosters collaboration, advances equity, and supports teacher retention. Participants will discuss practices that strengthen instruction, apply insights from the text to their context, share strategies and tools with peers, and explore GSP-aligned resources to translate ideas into sustained leadership and instructional growth.
Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics and Science
Thursdays, January 06 - February 03, 2026
This guided book club on Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by Peter Liljedahl supports leaders and teacher leaders in math, science, and STEM in implementing research-backed strategies that foster problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. Participants will analyze rich tasks, examine 14 practices that build a culture of thinking, discuss ways to support colleagues in shifting instruction, and share experiences applying these strategies across disciplines.
Diversifying the Educator Pipeline
Wednesdays, April 15 - May 06, 2026
This guided book club on Diversifying the Educator Pipeline by Shaylyn Marks follows a Black educator’s journey through recruitment, preparation, and retention, bringing GSP’s Diversifying the Educator Workforce principles to life. Participants will increase awareness of barriers to recruiting and retaining teachers of color, learn practical strategies for addressing those barriers, and engage in critical dialogue that deepens understanding.
