When Equity Meets Teaching: The Elements of Effective Instruction

A colorful classroom with students at desks, bookshelves lined with books, and a large chalkboard displaying vibrant charts and notes. Sunlight streams in, fostering equity in education and effective instruction in this warm, inviting learning environment.

The Elements of Effective Instruction (EEI) framework outlines five interconnected elements of instructional practice that complement and enhance each other. When incorporated into learning experiences, these elements promote student engagement, ultimately leading to improved outcomes and achievement for all students. GSP’s Indicators of Educational Equity serve as a guiding framework, offering a list of actions, attitudes, and strategies that school communities can implement to combat inequity.

These indicators provide a direction and help to set goals for creating an equitable learning environment. They help schools focus on what needs to be addressed to ensure that all students have access to fair and inclusive educational opportunities. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to deepen your understanding, this webinar will provide an overview of the Elements of Effective Instruction and Indicators of Educational Equity, an opportunity to reflect on where to begin, and testimonials from GSP partners in the field.
