Multi-tiered Systems of Support in the Classroom

Description
Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is a research-backed framework designed to help all students thrive by leveraging strategic, data-informed interventions to provide academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional support. Strong Tier 1 programming for all students is a core component of MTSS. Yet, even with the strongest Tier 1, 15-20% of students will still need something different to meet intended outcomes. This webinar, grounded in GSP’s MTSS Toolkit, explores ways to set up a classroom to provide effective, efficient, and equitable Tier 2 supports.
Participant Outcomes:
- Clarify the role of Tier 2 supports within an MTSS-embedded classroom.
- Consider specific Tier 1 academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional practices that create conditions for effective Tier 2 interventions.
- Explore essential components of effective Tier 2 interventions and various effective strategies for meeting learners’ strategic academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional needs within the classroom.
Audience:
- Classroom teachers
- School and district leaders
- Instructional coaches
