GSP Toolkit: A Model for Proficiency-Based Learning
Proficiency-Based Learning (also known as competency- or mastery-based learning) is reshaping schools across the country. States, districts, and individual schools are investing in this approach because it centers the student experience and improves educators’ ability to understand each student’s strengths and needs.
In this session, participants will explore how the components of the Great Schools Partnership’s Proficiency-Based Learning Toolkit can be used to shift mindsets, build coherent assessment systems, and transform instruction across a school. Together, we’ll examine real-world examples of implementation from classrooms, explore systems developed by educators, and discuss how these tools can be adapted to support our own contexts.
